Tarek Shukrallah

Tarek Shukrallah is a community organiser, political scientist and social scientist. From 2014 to 2022, Tarek studied political science at Philipps University of Marburg and, as a scholarship holder of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the DAAD, global studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi, and the University of Pretoria.

For a doctoral thesis on queer politics in Tunisia, Tarek Shukrallah has been supported since 2023 by a doctoral scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation. Since August 2024, Tarek Shukrallah has been a research assistant at the Chair of Political Science, specialising in Gender Studies, at Justus Liebig University Giessen. In addition, Tarek Shukrallah conducts research from an intersectional perspective on queer movements and queer of colour politics in German-speaking countries. To this end, there is close cooperation with the Gay Museum Berlin and the anti-racist archive project ‘ver/sammeln antirassistischer Kämpfe’ (collecting anti-racist struggles). Tarek Shukrallah is a member of the 16th Council of Spokespersons of the Politics & Gender Section of the German Political Science Association (DVPW).
