Jan-Henrik Friedrichs is a historian specialising in social and movement history after 1968, gender and sexuality history.

After completing a doctorate on squatting and heroin scenes in West Berlin and Zurich at the University of British Columbia, they spent many years conducting research at the University of Hildesheim on sexual and social science discourses on paedophilia and sexual abuse since the 1960s. Jan-Henrik Friedrichs is currently working at Humboldt University in Berlin on a research project on the implementation of the Radikalenerlass (Radicals Decree) in West Berlin with a focus on oral history and as a freelance couples and family therapist.
