New Dossier on Queer Contemporary History

News vom 01.08.2023

We would like to draw your attention to the newly published dossier on Queer Contemporary History (on zeitgeschichte.online), edited by our network coordinators and members Benno Gammerl, Andrea Rottmann and Ulrike Klöppel. The introduction to the dossier gives some clues as to what they mean by Queer Contemporary History and what implications this has for contemporary history in general. The contributions cover the topics- "Methods of Queer Research" (Beate Binder, Benno Gammerl)- "Aids-Bewegung in der Bundesrepublik. Eine queer-politische Bestandsaufnahme" (Eugen Januschke, Ulrike Klöppel)- "Lesbische* Frauen* in der Westdeutschen Psychiatrie in den ersten Nachkriegs Jahren" (Steff Kunz, Karen Nolte)- "Diana auf dem Sonderpfad. On dealing with queer topics in museums" (Collin Klugbauer)- "Women's prisons as spaces of queer GDR history" (Andrea Rottmann)- "Stern.Zeichen. Gay theater, travesty and queer historiography" (Eike Wittrock).

We hope you enjoy reading!
